Gold Coast is amazing.

Hello friends. I am still up on the Gold Coast and I love it here. I have been having an absolute blast here. So much golf, surfing, amazing dinners, and meat pies. I have officially had the best meat pie now. Josh took me to this place called Fosters Bakery. I ordered my standard Chunky Steak pie, and the first bite was mind blowing. It was full gourmet style. The steak inside was marinated in like a Port wine and the crust was so flakey and delicious. There was also some onion in it and the sauce inside was a like wine/garlic type. It was ridiculous. Typing about it makes my mouth water. I just wish it was closer to Josh's, it is over in Burleigh Heads. So if any of you go there ever, go to Foster's Bakers. Also I have been eating a lot of sushi up here. This place called Sushi Train. It's almost like a Good Choice Sushi like we have in California, but the sushi is better, and super cheap. They don't do much tuna though, which seemed strange to me. But the prawns and snapper and whatever other fish they use is delicious. They have this wasabi mayo at the tables too that is just a dream. They also do a lot of sushi with chicken and steak in them. And they are pretty solid I must say. They get my approval. I also attended this birthday party at this Greek restaurant this past weekend, and the food there was incredible. It was like a tappas style shindig, and they brought out all these amazing starters and entrees. I thought that was the most of it, but they they brought out this lamb that literally just fell off the bone, and this fish that was unreal. They had some really nice cheap wine there too that just made the evening amazing. I have had some funny dinners, but I cannot remember one point in that night where we were not dying laughing. Josh says he cant remember the last time he had tears from laughing. It was incredible. It was pretty wild, and I am sure we were all loud, but who cares. Pretty much this trip so far has gotten me so into food, wine and leisure. I love it. I do miss the Montieth's Summer Ale's from NZ though. But there is no shortage of delicious drinks here. Bunderburg Ginger Beers are almost a daily drink for me. They pair up so well with a nice meat pie. Probably not the healthiest, but its too good. As far at the rest of the week goes, I have gotten my computer back. Thank goodness for Apple Care. It needed a new logic board?! I have no idea what that even is, but it explains why turning it on and off a bunch didn't fix the problem... oh well it's fixed now. I just hope she doesn't break down anymore. Though, not going to lie, in a weird way it was kind of freeing, kind of like not having a cell phone. I felt bad that I couldn't email and update the blog and stuff to let you guys know I am still alive. Speaking of which, if any of you recall, in my last update I mentioned an amazing beach I surfed that was so beautiful and I felt completely safe there. Anyways, apparently that is one of the sharkiest places on the Gold Coast. A buddy of mine was telling me that he was surfing there a few months ago and a helicopter kept doing massive ovals in the sky above him, and after a few rotations the helicopter got really low to the water and the pilot came on the loud speaker and told them to immediately exit the water because there was a school of about 200 sharks heading directly where they are. I guess down the way there is an ocean life preserve and it is just a feeding and breeding ground for Bull Sharks, Hammer heads and Tiger Sharks. All very fun sharks. But I still have yet to see one. I did almost get hit in the face by a bat the other day though. Walking home from a pub, I rounded a corner and I guess I cut it too close to a tree where a bat had just posted up. We scared the crap out of one another, but I was the only one who screamed. He just flew away, I started running the opposite way. So yep, that's pretty much the most of what I have been up to here. A lot of surfing great waves, golfing more than I have in the past 2 years and laughing non stop. Anyway time to surf! Adios!
