Busy Bee.

First off I apologize for not keeping up with the blog lately. My bad. To catch you up to speed though; I am currently in Dublin, about to head up to Belfast soon (as in 1 hour), had an incredible last couple days in Japan, traveled from Fujiyoshida to the Izu Peninsula, then back to Tokyo. I then flew from Tokyo to Qatar (boarding Saudi Arabia) and that was weird, only had a brief lay over there ( from 4am to 8am, so no sleeping), then flew from there to London. I really liked London. I showed up in shorts and T shirt though and after being in 80+ degree Japan, I froze. But I became acclimated very fast.. meaning I put on every warm piece of clothing I could find. People were laughing at me saying how nice the weather was, yet they all had jackets on too. Idiots. Tahiti in January is nice weather, Hawaii in November is nice weather, London in the end of August is not "nice weather." But to each is own. I don't really want to catch any "bad weather" here. Though, being here for 4 months, I am sure I will see some. Before I go into any more discussion on Europe I want to talk briefly on my ending days in Japan. I, of course, extended in Fujiyoshida once again and attended this amazing fireworks festival at the 5 lakes. It was incredible, made the fireworks shows on the 4th at home look silly. The show went on for close to 3 hours. The finale was mind blowing. They did things you could never get away with in the states. I had a very good time there. The family that owned the Hostel that I was at took me with them and took me out for food after as well. It was very cool. Ito, in the Izu Peninsula, was unreal. It was like a little Hawaii kind of. There was even a Hawaiian restaurant next to my hostel. I ate there a few times, had some amazing Poke and some macadamia crusted Ahi. It was very tasty. It felt so good to sit on the beach and get sun burnt. The ocean was a bit brisk, but I just sat in there for a while trying to absorb as much of it as I could. I almost wanted to drink it, but I know the repercussions of such actions. I really enjoyed Ito. Watching the Japanese play in the ocean and on the beach was hilarious too, oh my, they would terrorize each other. They would drink all day in the sun and then go splash in the water like little kids, yelling, laughing and trying to drown one another. Girls were not safe either, I think they got the worst of it. They all had this like frilly bikinis on that were hilarious too. If you saw a girl in the states wearing that, you'd think there was something wrong with her. It was pretty comical. They would literally pass out in the sand too, no towel. Just beer in hand, sprawled out in the black sand. When I got back to Tokyo I had a good time. Made a ton more friends at bars, learned more funny Japanese words, and cant remember going out and not laughing myself to tears. I got to meet up with a friend from college as well that I hadn't seen in 3 years or so. We did graphic design together and he was a real good guy. He was from Japan but moved to the states for college. We went out at this little bar in Shibuya that I become somewhat of a regular at... the people there loved my funny Japanese words I would throw out. "Maji Yabai" was my trademark basically. It loosely means "very intense/exciting," but can mean pretty much anything actually. If said while given with a thumbs up it kinda means "awesome!" They loved it. They all knew what it meant, but I guess its not a very frequently used phrase. I had a ball with it. I also got to meet up with a friend of a friend of mine who lived in Japan, but used to live in the States. My friend Tyler told me to contact his friend and I did and we ended up meeting up my last night in Tokyo. She took me to this great cafe in Rippongi and we had a very lovely time. I have said it before, but I love the Japanese. I cannot wait to go back to Japan.

Now, the matter at hand; the food of Europe. Thus far, I miss all the sushi and fresh fish from Japan. There is so much bread here, its like the staple for every meal. London I got my hands on a Chili dish that was pretty amazing, but since then I have been eating pasta, sandwiches, pizza and just plain bread. I don't know how there are any skinny people in Europe. I must be the cigarettes. Cause I know its not the walking. I walk all freakin day, and I am filling in very nicely. It's fun to be a hedonist for a little bit though. I cannot believe how pricey Europe is too. I haven't even gotten to Scandinavia either. Oh well, I am having too much fun to care. I am stoked they accept credit cards. In Japan, few places would. Here you can buy everything with cards, which I am sure will come back to bite me in the butt. Budgeting here is a lot more difficult than Japan and everywhere else too because you are traveling so often. Once I get to the main part of Europe I think I can calm down a bit. I hope. I am planning on purchasing one of the Eurorail Passes too, which should make it easier to get around, and cheaper. It doesn't work in the UK and there isn't much railway to use it in Ireland either so I haven't bothered with it yet. The max time I can get for it is 3 months as well so I am going to wait till the last moment to get it so I can get the most out of it. We shall see if my thinking proves correct or if I am sabotaging myself again. I have come to learn to always double check myself on these things. I think my subconscious likes to keep me on my toes by doing weird things when my conscious' attention is diverted elsewhere. Good life lesson though, to know that my subconscious is a con artist.. or just a full retard. Anyway. I am off! I will try to blog more often(I feel like I have said that before, but I will keep trying). Sayonara.
